When the U.S. Public Health Service endorsed water fluoridation in 1950, there was little evidence of its safety.
Now, six decades later and after most countries have rejected the practice, many cities and towns across the United States continue to fluoridate their water supply and the Center for Disease Control and the American Dental Association continue to endorse it, despite increasing evidence that it is not only unnecessary, but potentially hazardous to human health.
In this timely and important book, Dr. Paul Connett, Dr. James Beck, and Dr. Spedding Micklem take a new look at the science behind water fluoridation and argue that just because the medical establishment endorses a public health measure, that doesn’t mean it’s safe.
In the case of water fluoridation, the chemicals used to fluoridate the water that more than 180 million people drink each day are not pharmaceutical grade, but rather hazardous waste products of the phosphate fertilizer industry; it is illegal to dump them into rivers and lakes or release them into the atmosphere [instead, they dump it into the drinking water].
And water fluoridation is a prime example of one of the worst medical practices possible — forced medication with no control over the dose or who gets it.
Perhaps most shocking of all, it is not subject to any federal regulation. At once painstakingly-documented and also highly-readable, “The Case Against Fluoride” brings new research to light, including links between fluoride and harm to the brain, bones, and kidneys, and argues that while there is possible value in topical applications like brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste, the evidence that swallowing fluoride reduces tooth decay is surprisingly weak.
“The Case Against Fluoride” doesn’t question the good intentions of dentists who support fluoridation, but rather explores the poor science, bizarre tactics, biased reviews, and puzzling motivations of a relatively small number of influential people who continue to push this practice on a largely ill-informed public.

Fluoridation causes poisonous lead to leach out of brass fittings in the water supply system while also acting to increase the uptake of heavy metals into the blood, such that blood level concentrations of heavy metals are three times higher in children that are exposed to fluoridation. America imports industrial waste fluoride from China to use in fluoridation of the water. This solid fluoride imported from China does not completely dissolve in water and leaves an “unidentified” sludge. That would be the same China from which Americans import building materials and toys laden with poisonous heavy metals such as lead. The nefarious CDC has the audacity to state that this unidentified sludge is “safe”; think on that, they cannot identify what it is but they claim that an unknown sludge from industrial waste from China is “safe”? This is the same CDC that claims that additives of carcinogens and mercury and immune system spikers are safe to use in vaccines that are injected into children in a barrage of shots at an early formative age, even before they get out of the hospital. Fluoride is a (toxic) drug, unapproved and untested by the FDA (also complicit with the government and medical industrial complex). No consideration is given to the levels of fluoride added to the water, nor the fact that some people will drink larger quantities of fluoridated water than is safe, nor is the content of pre-existing “natural” fluoride in the water considered, nor do they consider that some people with compromised immune systems are more vulnerable to the adverse effects of fluoride, nor do they have any concern with the fact that many people are simply allergic to fluoride. China, India, Japan, and all but three countries in all of Europe have banned the fluoridation of water. The book does not delve into the levels of fluoride related diseases nor the lack of disease, but consider that Americans are down the list from the top of healthiest populations at forty something along with third world countries. To that, add the fact that Americans spend far and away more money to treat disease than any other country. Only about 30 countries force fluoridation on the populace. Fluoride inhibits and interferes with natural bodily enzymes, which are “vital agents of the body”, and is used as an “enzyme poison” used to kill enzymes in laboratory experiments. From page 117.

Fluoride facilitates the bodily uptake of aluminum that is present in the water and foods. Aluminum (which is also approved by the CDC to dump into vaccines) disrupts the transmission of critical messages across cells, adversely affecting hormones and growth factors and nuerochemical signals in the brain. Over 80 scientific studies identifies fluoride as interfering with brain function, while 23 studies associate fluoride exposure with lowered IQ, and three studies conclude damage to the fetal brain. These studies are covered in chapter 15.

Fluoride causes oxidative stress (the prelude to cancer) by interfering with the body’s defense mechanisms, causing lipid peroxidation and inflammation as well as a whole range of degenerative diseases (such as rheumatoid arthritis, referred to as “the death sentence”)… From page 121.

Fluoride enters the body in a number of ways, not just through fluoridated water, adding to the body burden of this toxic drug. Fluoride is also absorbed by the skin, particularly through showers and baths (get a filter). It can also enter the body through the gums with the use of fluoride toothpaste (just try to find a fluoride-free toothpaste), particularly in those that have any form of gum disease, but also in healthy gum tissue. Of course, the human tongue and tissues of the mouth are also highly absorptive of fluoride from toothpaste. Fluoride can also be ingested through the lungs by breathing air that holds fluoride and it’s various industrial compounds. Be aware that in Florida, toxic fluoride byproduct waste from the phosphate mining industry is “disposed of” by piling it up into “mountains”, where it is exposed to the heat of the sun and the tropical winds to be blown all around the state and sucked up into the atmosphere to be transmitted all around the globe (just as similar mining industries all around the planet). Fifty percent of the fluoride ingested and absorbed is removed by the kidneys (in healthy person). The other 50% accumulates in the bones, the pineal gland (of the brain), and calcifying tissues of the body. Those with poor kidney function of course accumulate much higher levels. As people age, kidney function declines, particularly in the elderly that consume pharmaceuticals (a convenient “side effect”). Over 90% of excess fluoride is stored in the bones, which adversely affects the sensitive functions of the bone marrow and is deleterious to the immune system. Summary/synopsis.
